Description

The Old Shop is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of brick and stone, now rendered, and likely includes some timber framing. The roof is thatched. The building has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. It features a two-window range of casement windows with glazing bars, which are set under wooden lintels; the attic windows are located beneath eyebrow dormers. There is a central 20th-century door, also under a wooden lintel. Inside, the house has spine beams and remnants of a small open fireplace. At one time, it was used as the village shop.
