Description
Lilac Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Laundry Road in Apethorpe. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features a Collyweston slate roof, with an L-shaped plan. The front elevation facing Laundry Road has a two-window range of 19th-century casement windows set under wooden lintels, along with a blocked fire window on the far left. There is a brick and stone chimney stack at the end of the building. The right gable has similar casement windows, while the rear elevation mirrors this with two plank doors beneath a rustic porch. Above the porch, there is an eaves dormer. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace with a bressumer.
