Description
Nos. 7 and 8 on The Green are a house that has been divided into two dwellings. They date from the early 18th century and the 19th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone and has a Collyweston slate roof. Originally, it had a one-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic.
The façade features a three-window range of casement windows with glazing bars set under wooden lintels. There are four hipped eaves dormers in the attic. Between the window ranges, there are plank doors, one of which has a rectangular fanlight above it. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, along with ashlar stacks that have moulded cornices at the ridge and ends.
Inside No. 7, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer. It was likely converted in the 19th century into two or three cottages by the Wadenhoe estate.
