Description

A row of six cottages stands on the south-east side of High Street, Harrington. The cottages were built around 1820, with a later addition to the rear dating to the mid-19th century, which has a lower pitched roof. The construction is of coursed and squared ironstone and brick, topped with plain tile roofs. There are five brick stacks along the ridge and two gable stacks. The cottages are two storeys high, arranged over nine bays. The front elevation features six plank and close boarded doors alternating with nine three-light steel and wooden casement windows, all set beneath long wooden lintels. Above, there are nine 19th and 20th century two-light casement windows; the casement furthest to the right is of a different design. The north gable has a rebuilt single-storey lean-to addition with a three-light casement, and a two-light casement above it. The south gable has 20th-century windows.
