Description

The windmill tower, located approximately 130 meters east of Tansor Court, is a disused structure likely built in the mid-18th century to 19th century. It is constructed from squared coursed limestone and brick, with some parts rendered. The tower is circular and features a battered design with four stages. There is a doorway with a wooden lintel at the ground floor, and casement openings on alternating faces of each stage. A 20th-century castellated parapet crowns the structure. The interior is an open shell. Early photographs show that it originally had a revolving cap. During the 19th century, the windmill operated in cooperation with Sawfords Bakery in Tansor.
