Description
The Church of Saints Peter and Paul, located on the north side of Church Lane in Great Missenden, is primarily a 14th-century structure that was heightened in the 15th century. The tower saw additions in the 16th century and 1732, with restoration and a northeast addition completed between 1899 and 1900. The building features sarsen stone footings and some dressings, flint rubble, roughcast, and other dressings in ashlar. Inside, there is a fine nave arcade and a 15th-century timber roof. Notable interior elements include brasses and monuments, such as that of William Bois from 1631, located over the south door, which features voussoirs representing stacked books.
