Description
The summerhouse located to the north-east of Missenden Abbey dates from around 1800 and is constructed of rubble flint and brick. It features a slate roof that is hidden behind a parapet. The building is a single storey and has three open arches at the center, supported by rusticated piers, voussoirs, and carved stone keyblocks. The side sections are made of brick and have blank recesses with flat brick arches and impost bands. At the center, there is a shallow gable or pediment topped with a castellated parapet that extends over the side sections. The summerhouse is situated over a stream that flows into the landscape to the south.
