Description

The Small Temple at West Wycombe Park is a late 18th century or early 19th century single-storey structure made of curved brick and stucco. It features a conical Welsh slate roof topped with a ball finial. The east side has a fan-shaped portico that is cement rendered, supported by Greek Doric columns beneath a simplified entablature consisting of a frieze and cornice. The end wall bays on either side have niches under panels, all framed by pilasters and an entablature. The building is noted for its group value. Originally, it served as a water tower with a space for a cistern, and it has since been converted into a dovecote.
