Description
The Laurels is a house located on Church Street in Gawcott, dating from the mid to late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is rendered over stone and brick, featuring a plain-tile roof with brick ridge and end stacks. It has a three-unit plan and is two stories tall with a three-window range. There is a blocked door to the right of the center. The ground floor includes three-light 20th-century casement windows on the left and far right, and a two-light casement window on the right. The first floor has three-light casement windows. The eaves are cogged brick, and there is a two-story wing at the rear right. Inside, there is an open fireplace with stone jambs and an ogee stop-chamfered bressumer, along with ogee stop-chamfered spine beams.
