Description
Beam House, located at No 38 on the High Street in Great Missenden, is a building dating from the 15th or 16th century that has been altered and refaced in the 18th century. The exterior features chequer brickwork, a plinth, and a first-floor band, topped with an old tile roof and a brick stack positioned to the left of center. The building is two storeys high and has a front door with six fielded panels located to the right of center, which is sheltered by a pediment hood supported on brackets. On either side of the door are three-light leaded casements with cambered arches. To the left, there is a small shop window with a four-panel door and a cornice above. The first floor has three three-light leaded casements, also with cambered arches. Inside, the building contains two cruck trusses, with the blades terminating above the collars.
