Description
The structure is a rustic arch that formerly belonged to Stoke Court. It is made of flint rubble set in lime mortar and features a tall, slightly pointed arch with abutments and a semicircular alcove behind it. The flint rubble masonry is designed in a 'rustic' style, giving it the appearance of being in a state of ruination or resembling natural rock. The abutments on either side of the arch are irregular spurs, and the gable above is topped with a series of crooked pinnacles. There are signs that the structure once had a roof, likely a timber lean-to with rafters extending from the top of the alcove wall to the inward face of the arch, but this roof has completely disappeared.
