Description
Sefton Park is a country house built around 1830, altered around 1900, and converted to offices in 1948. The building is constructed of stucco and features a hipped low slate roof that overhangs at the eaves in the center. It is two stories tall and has three curved bays with top balustrades at each end, along with a plain six-window range in the center. The windows are sash. At the rear, there is a projecting wing that has a c1900 open pedimented porch, as well as a long rear wing to the right, which is of lesser interest. The interiors, primarily from around 1900, include an elaborate oak-panelled entrance hall in a Jacobean style with a staircase. There is also a genuine 17th-century stone fireplace with an ornate overmantel. The house was formerly owned by the Earl of Sefton.
