Description

The former Rope Walk building and wall at The Old Rectory date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The structure features a witchert wall that fronts the road, which is colourwashed and roughcast on the roadside. The covered rope walk, located on the south or inner side, has a pantile roof and consists of 16 bays, with 13 supported by posts and open at the front. The remaining three bays are enclosed by weather boarding. The posts are adorned with curved brackets, making this a rare survival in the village. The wall returns at the west end.
