Description
The cart shed and barn at Dorneywood is an open former cart shed that likely dates back to the 18th century. It features a timber frame, is weather-boarded, and has an old tile roof. The south gable of the shed incorporates a dovecote and includes late 19th-century armorial stained glass associated with Lord Courtauld-Thomson. Attached to the north is a T-shaped barn from the 16th or 17th century, which now serves as a billiard room and squash court. The barn has a low brick base, is also weather-boarded, and has an old tile roof. Notably, there is a weathervane on the west gable and another weathervane shaped like a galleon on the south gable. Additionally, a rainwater head inscribed with "LW 1788" is located at the southeast corner.
