Description

Manor Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that has been altered over time. It is constructed of brick with a timber cornice and features a hipped old tile roof. The building has six bays and two storeys, plus dormers, and is designed in an L shape with a northwest wing and a staircase turret at the angle. There is further infill that dates to 1726.

The northeast or entrance front has a six-panel door located in the third bay from the right, accompanied by a four-pane rectangular fanlight. To the right of this door are cross casements in the two ground floor bays. On both floors, there are two blocked windows flanking a sash window in the three left bays. A band course runs along the building, and the two right-hand bays include sash windows, with a casement above the door. The facade is topped with a modillioned wood cornice, and there are two hipped dormers featuring moulded cornices and two-light casements. A central stack is present, and to the right, there are two gabled wings.

The rear wing of the main house continues the detailing of the front, including the band course and modillion cornice, and there is a blocked cross casement on the northwest elevation. The southeast gable elevation and staircase turret are roughcast. A flat-roofed single-storey addition at the south replaces an 18th-century infill bay.

Inside, the staircase turret features a closed string open well staircase that rises to the full height of the attic. This staircase has square newels with moulded caps and ball finials, a moulded string, and turned balusters. Some of the main rooms contain panelling.
