Description
Blueys Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 17th century, with parts rebuilt in the 19th century and refurbished and extended in the 20th century. It features a timber frame with brick and whitewashed render infill, much of which has been renewed. The southern front has been partially rebuilt in brick. The farmhouse has old tile roofs and a chimney made of thin brick with a pilaster and an off-set head at the center of the west wing, along with other later matching chimneys. Originally, the building had an L-shaped plan with a lower range at the eastern end; the eastern range has been raised and given a gabled projection to the south in the 20th century. The house is approximately 1½ storeys tall and has around four bays. The 20th-century leaded casements are found in the upper storey, either in gabled dormers or semi-dormers. The southern front features a 20th-century canted bay window in the second bay. The northern front has a right bay that is gabled and projecting, with a catslide extension to the left side, and a lean-to with a 20th-century gabled porch to the right of center. The farmhouse was formerly known as Finnamore Farmhouse.
