Description
The Old Crown and Old Crown Cottage is a house that was formerly an inn, dating from the 17th century and altered and extended in the 19th century. The building is probably timber framed but is concealed by painted rendering. There is a brick wing at the eastern end that features a first-floor band. The roof is covered with old tiles and has a brick chimney to the right of the main house and another in the center of the eastern wing. There is a tall stack at the rear of the main block, connected to the roof by a gabled link. The house has three eaves dormers with flat tops and is one storey with an attic, comprising three bays. The three-light wood casements flank a central door that is set in a modern gabled open porch. The eastern wing has three and two-light casements with segmental arched heads, along with one small upper window. There is a one-storey addition at the eastern end and outshots with a tiled roof at the rear of the main house.
