Description
Oxford Cottage is an 18th-century building situated on the west side of Oxford Road. It is two storeys high and constructed of chequer brick, with a moulded wood cornice string and a tall parapet. The roof is covered in old tiles. The front facade has three bays, featuring three segmental-headed casement windows with three panes of glass each. A door is located to the side, leading into a long, one-storey service wing that flanks the road. This wing is built of colourwashed brick and has an old tile roof. It contains a four-panel door, a double window, a secondary door, and a stable door. The novelist G.P.R. James formerly lived at this property.
