Description

Oak Lodge is a gatehouse located on Dropmore Road, built in the mid-19th century and attributed to a design by Lady Grenville. The building is one storey with an attic and features a picturesque design, including an over-sailing upper storey and a prominent gable facing the road. It is constructed using a variety of materials, including medieval bench-ends, early Renaissance and Jacobean panels, as well as oak chests and blocks that were used for printing cotton cloth. Additionally, the structure incorporates twisted and fluted colonnettes.
