Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of shallow and elongated bricks, which are now painted. The cottage features a dentil moulded cornice on all facades and has a hipped plain tile roof with brick side stacks. The building has a central entrance plan and is two storeys high, with a two-window range. The main facade is symmetrically arranged with triple-light, central-casement windows, and the ground-floor windows have shallow brick arches. The central door is also a notable feature.
Inside, the ground-floor rooms are adorned with half-height beaded plank wainscotting and plank doors, one of which is capped with a curved broken pediment. There are Victorian fireplaces present as well. Additionally, there are two small weather-boarded one-storey outshots with corrugated roofs. In the 19th century, Yew Tree Cottage was used as a beer house.
