Description
The Homestead is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered and extended. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, with some parts rebuilt in brick, and features a concrete tile roof. The building has a large stack made of thin bricks and a lobby entry located at the center of the main section to the east, forming an L-plan. It is 1½ storeys high.
The south front has four bays: the two eastern bays are made of stone and have 19th-century barred wooden casements with cambered stone arches, featuring a two-light window on the ground floor to the left and a three-light window on the lower right, while the upper left-hand casement is leaded with a similar head. There is a central boarded door located within a gabled concrete block porch. The two bays to the left are made of brick and have altered casements, with an entry to the left.
The north side has similar windows, some of which are leaded, and features a two-storey wing that projects to the right with a brick stack at the center. Inside the eastern section, there is a moulded spine beam.
