Description

Nampara Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th and early 18th centuries, with later additions. The original cottage is constructed of rubble stone, roughly rendered to the front and rear, and has a thatched roof with a brick stack on the south gable. It is a one-and-a-half-storey, two-bay building. The west side has a 20th-century barred wooden casement window to the right, with an upper window set within a thatch eyebrow. The left-hand bay features a projecting, 19th-century two-storey extension with timber studding, whitewashed rendered infill, a tiled roof, 20th-century casement windows, and an entrance. 19th and 20th-century extensions to the north, with slate and flat roofs, are not considered to be of special architectural interest. While the house's overall appearance suggests a later date, a beam end bears an inscription reading "1P+ 1535."
