Description

This is an early 19th century terrace of four houses, now used as offices, located on the south side of High Street. The building is constructed of yellow stock brick with a low-pitched roof concealed behind a parapet with a blocking course. It is arranged over three storeys, with a string course and balconies at first-floor level, supported by flattened curved brackets beneath paired windows. The balconies have cast iron railings featuring a honeysuckle pattern. An eaves-level cornice sits above a painted stucco frieze. Each house originally had two windows; the end houses slightly project. The ground floor windows are arched sashes, while the first floor has French windows within flat arches. Second-floor windows are sashes with flat arches, all containing glazing bars. The front doors are four-panelled, set within slim pilaster frames, with radiating and curved glazing bars to the fanlights. Spearhead railings lead to the steps up to and across the front of the building. Later additions have been made to the rear.
