Description
The Thatch is a house that dates from the late 15th to 16th century and has been altered over time. It features two original bays that have been rebuilt in colourwashed brick. To the left, there is a narrow 18th-century extension, also in colourwashed brick, with slight timbering. A 20th-century flat-roofed sun-lounge is located at the far left, while a 20th-century colourwashed brick bay is on the right. The house has a hipped thatch roof and a central rebuilt brick chimney. It is one storey high with an attic and consists of four bays. The ground floor has irregular 20th-century barred wood and metal casements, with one paired casement in the thatch featuring a tiled apron in the second bay. There is a 20th-century door to the right of the third bay. The second bay displays flanking cruck trusses with original purlins and one wind-brace, while the third bay has heavy original joists running along the axis of the building.
