Description
Loakes House is a villa dating from the late 18th century, formerly known as Little Loakes and likely the Dower House of the former Loakes Manor House, now Wycombe Abbey. The building is two storeys tall and features dormers and a basement. It has a double front with three windows and a slightly recessed central window bay. The hipped tile roof is complemented by brick stacks. The exterior is constructed of brick with a dentil eaves course and a plot band at the first-floor level. The windows are segmental-arched, recessed sash windows with glazing bars, and there are flat-headed dormers with casements. A Corinthian portico in antis frames the doorway, which includes a semi-elliptical radial fanlight, sidelights, and a raised and fielded panel door. The northeast front has a central splayed bay window that was heightened in the late 20th century. Inside, the property retains corbels, panelled doors, arched openings, and other notable features.
