The elevation facing Dark Lantern Passage, which separates the inn from No 4 Market Street, shows timber framing dating from the 16th to 17th century. The gable end has painted brick infilling, and the ground floor has been refaced. In the attic, there is one 2-light casement window, and on the first floor, there is one 3-light casement window from the 19th century. The rear of the building features irregular windows and 17th-century chimney stacks, along with some 17th-century panelling inside.
