Description
The Chesham Building Society, formerly known as The George Public House, is a mid-18th century building located on the north-west side of Market Square. This four-storey structure is constructed of red and vitreous brick, accented with red dressings. It features a plain facade with a parapet and coping, topped by an old hipped tile roof. On the upper floors, there are two windows with flush architrave frames, while the first-floor windows have flat heads. The glazing on all windows has been altered. The ground floor has a modern window and door. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 5 to 9 (odd) and The Kings Head Hotel.
