Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made later. The ground floor is whitewashed render, while the first floor is roughcast over a timber frame. It has steeply pitched tiled roofs. A mid-18th century chimney stack is located at the southeast corner, constructed of vitreous brick with red quoins. The house is arranged in an L-shape with an original staircase and later extensions in the angle. It has two storeys and an attic. The south front has two gabled bays, the left one being lower and narrower. It features leaded casement windows: a two-light window in the left bay and a three-light window to the right. The left bay contains a 19th-century six-panelled door, half-glazed with a rectangular fanlight, set within a wooden doorcase of moulded pilaster strips and a cornice hood supported by scroll brackets. A lean-to addition, set back to the left against the rear wing, has a 20th-century gabled dormer. A 19th-century extension set back to the right is built of red brick with a lean-to porch containing a board door and a three-light barred wooden casement window to the right. A three-light window to the rear has a timber frame with mullions. The interior reveals timber framing, stop-chamfered spine beams, and a spiral staircase.
