Description
The Swan Public House is an 18th-century building located on the south side of High Street in West Wycombe. It features colour-washed brick and an old tile roof with a brick modillion cornice. The structure is two storeys high, with the street elevation displaying five wood mullion two-light casements that include glazing bars. The ground floor has cambered relieving arches above two casements on the first floor. There is a brick plinth and a band at the first floor level, along with a bracketed gabled door hood. To the left, there is a single-storey wing that contains one double-hung sash window and a small modern window, topped with a hipped old tiled roof that also has a brick modillion cornice. A modern south wing has been added, designed to be in keeping with the original building. The Swan Public House is part of a group that includes adjoining outbuildings and several other properties, such as Nos 2 to 5, Nos 7 to 9, the West Wycombe Branch County Library, and The George and Dragon Inn, among others.
