Description

Coleshill Cottage, dated 1809, began as a block of four cottages and is now a single house. The construction is of rubble flint with red brick dressings and diapering, topped with an old tile roof and dentil brick eaves. The building is two storeys high. Each former cottage originally had a central door, although a modern open gabled porch has been removed from one. There are three-light and two-light casement windows on each side, all with flat arches. Above the porch, there are two similar windows, and a blank recess containing stone tablets dated 1810. Bottle-end diaper ornament appears on the first floor. A gable end facing the road features two windows on each floor, and tiles in the gable are inscribed with “CWF 1809” and “SMF 1809”.
