Description

This is an 18th-century cottage, altered in subsequent periods. It is constructed of wetherboard (a type of timber cladding), with colourwashing and roughcast render on the front and flanks, and colourwashed and rendered rear elevations. The roof is thatched. The cottage is two bays wide and two storeys high. A door is positioned off-centre. The windows are sash windows, with a tripartite (three-pane) sash on the left side of the ground floor and a single-pane fixed sash window with glazing bars on the right side of the ground floor. Quoins (cornerstones) and lintels are highlighted with smooth render. The cottage has gable stacks (chimneys protruding from the gable ends). Attached to the right is a single-storey outbuilding with a corrugated sheet roof.
