Description
This building is a stable with a pigeon loft above, located approximately 10 metres south of Middle House. It likely dates from the early 18th century, incorporating some remains from the 17th century. The structure is built of gritstone rubble and has a graduated stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and consists of a single cell with quoins.
On the south wall, there is a boarded door on the right, set in a quoined surround with a large lintel, and to the left, there is a square louvred opening. The east gable features a blocked two-light recessed chamfered mullion window, although the mullion itself is missing. There are four tiers of pigeon holes, arranged in groups of six, four, two, and one, with perching stones at the gable. A row of through stones is present at the first-floor level. The north front has a square forking hole below the eaves, with quoined jambs, and random through-stones are visible on this wall. The interior has not been inspected during the resurvey.
