Description
The Friends' Meeting House is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of Village Green in Bainbridge. It is constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof and is a single-storey structure featuring a gallery at the left end and three windows overall. On the left side, there is a four-panel door set in an ashlar surround with splayed bases and plinths, along with a matching four-panel door below an overlight. Above this, at a higher level, is a sash window with glazing bars that provides light to the gallery staircase. To the right of the doors, there are two additional sash windows with glazing bars. The building also includes stone gutter brackets, kneelers, and ashlar copings, as well as end stacks.
Inside, the meeting room and elders' gallery are adorned with contemporary panelling. The first-floor gallery is separated from the meeting room by shutters, and there is a stone staircase featuring twisted standard balusters.
