Description
Nos 78, 79A, 79B, 80, and 81 The Warren is a terrace row of four cottages that have been converted into two houses (78 and 81) and three flats. These buildings date back to 1810 and were constructed by the Selsey estate. They underwent restoration and alterations around 1980. The exterior features flints set in galletting with red brick dressings and quoins, topped with a red tiled roof. The structure is two stories high, with seven windows on the lower level and six above, all of which are small paned casements in red brick surrounds. However, several of these windows are modern additions, and all the joinery has been replaced. The nearly central doorway, which leads to the flats, has a gabled hood, while the house doors are located on the end walls. The roof is half hipped and has two large brick stacks, with a flint and brick buttress aligned with each stack. The rear elevation features four gabled extensions that are in a similar character to the main structure. The interior has not been inspected.
