Description
This barn, located 5 yards north-west of Anne of Cleeves' House, dates back to the 16th century and has undergone significant rebuilding in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It features a timber-framed structure with tile hanging on the gable end facing north. The wall facing Potter's Lane consists of coursed dressed stone in the lowest courses, with flint and brick walling above. The roof is plain tiled. The west wall has irregular openings, with four above three and a single opening below, mostly dressed in red brick. Inside, the barn has a crown-post collar-purlin roof with inserted stepped purlins, square crown-posts supported by four upward and two larger downward braces, and it comprises four bays.
