Description

Rod Cottage is a building that was originally two cottages, likely both from the late 17th century but designed in different styles. The south cottage has two storeys and two windows, with the ground floor made of ironstone rubble and the upper floor tile-hung. The north cottage is taller and constructed of ashlar with red brick dressings, quoins, and a stringcourse. It also has two storeys and an attic, featuring one gabled dormer and a chimney breast at the north end. The entire building has a tiled roof and casement windows. Rod Cottage is part of the Parham estate and was restored and converted into a single dwelling by Clive Pearson in 1955, which is noted on a tablet with the initials C P and the date.
