Description

The Pound on Bepton Road in Midhurst is a rectangular enclosure made of stone rubble walls that stand about 1.2 meters high. The north side, which faces Bepton Road, features a central opening with a 20th-century wooden gate. The upper section of the eastern part of this side has been repaired with brick. Originally, the parapet was made of stone and sloped towards the center of the enclosure, but in the 20th century, a course of bricks laid on end was added to it. Inside the enclosure, part of a stone floor can be seen, while the rest is believed to be preserved beneath later turf.
