Description

The Old Farmhouse is a timber-frame house, dating from the 16th century, with a crosswing at one end. It was largely reclad and extended in the late 18th century. The upper walls of the crosswing show exposed timber framing with brick infill, including close-studding filled with flints on the west gable and exposed framing to the rear. The remaining walls are brick, constructed in Flemish bond with blue headers and a Flemish Garden Wall bond. The roof has a catslide to the rear of the crosswing. The west front elevation comprises a two-storey, attic gable section with two windows and one above two, alongside a larger section with two small windows under the eaves and two half-dormers with gables above three ground-floor windows. The windows are casements. A boarded door is set within a simple frame.
