Description

House, originally built in the 17th century by the Peachey family, but significantly altered in the early 18th century, and subsequently extended. It was once occupied by the agent of the Leconfield Estate. The building now has a double-L shape. It is three storeys high and built of ashlar with a slate roof and a parapet with cornice. The roof has a steep pitch, with only a crest visible from the front. A solid porch features a round-headed window on the first floor above it. There are narrow sash windows on either side of the central window bay on each floor, followed by a pair of sash windows. All windows have wide glazing bars and are set in coved reveals. A blind two-sash window is located to the east. A projecting north wing, likely added in the late 18th century, extends from the west end. This wing has three windows on each floor, framed by moulded architraves with keystones. The north end of this wing includes a dummy Venetian window on the first floor, topped by a cornice and pediment with a dummy lunette window within the tympanum. Photographs are held in the National Buildings Record.
