Description

The Gates of Cowdray House are 18th-century gates that were originally located on the east side of North Street in Midhurst. They were relocated to their current site due to road widening and the creation of a car park. The gates feature ashlar gate-piers topped with urns on two-tiered bases, which are complemented by upright voluted brackets on the outer sides. Between the piers, there are wrought-iron gates divided into six sections, adorned with a cresting of fleur-de-lys.
