Description
The Statue of Hound at Upper Pond is an early 19th-century sculpture created by the sculptor Carew. This stone statue represents one of the 3rd Earl of Egremont's favorite hunting dogs, which is said to have drowned in the lake. The statue depicts a seated figure on a rectangular plinth, which is placed on a rectangular stone slab beneath it. The entire structure is supported by a stone column that projects about one foot out of the water.
