Description
Manor Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century, with additions from the 18th century, late 19th century, and early 20th century. It features brick walls constructed in English bond, with some openings altered over time. The building has first and second floor bands, mostly moulded but plain on the west side, and some cambered openings. There is a moulded brick plinth above a flint base, and a stone mullioned three-light window in the basement. The rear sections of the house have malmstone walls with brick dressings. The roof is tiled, hipped at the front and gabled at the rear, supported by wrought-iron eaves brackets. The main part of the house is a tall block with lower rear wings added in the late 19th century. The south front has two storeys and features one and two windows with casements. A former doorway has been filled in and replaced by a 20th-century entrance at the west end, which is associated with an L-shaped covered way. The rear wings have walls made of stone, brickwork, and tile-hanging. The forecourt boundary wall, dating from the 17th century, is made of red brick in English bond and has a stone weathered capping.
