Description
Carpenters Cottage and Lannowes Cottage, originally one house, were built in the 17th century and later divided into two. The cottages have been refenestrated in the 20th century. The structure is made of stone rubble with red brick dressings, while Carpenters Cottage, which comprises the three western bays, is roughcast. The east gable end is tile hung, and the building features a tiled roof with a large brick chimneystack. It has two storeys and four windows on the front. The layout is L-shaped. Carpenters Cottage includes three triple 20th-century casements and a plain doorcase. Lannowes Cottage has a casement with a cambered head on the first floor and a blocked doorcase on the ground floor. The east end elevation features tripartite windows. The rear elevation has a gabled dormer and one four-light casement. The L-wing includes a lean-to and a penticed porch at the angle of the L.
