Description
The Parish Church of St Andrew is a medieval church with a cruciform layout, featuring a west tower and porch at its base. It is constructed of flint and has a slate roof. The chancel and nave are medieval, while the tower was built in 1727 and the transepts date from the late 18th century. After a fire in 1934, the church was rebuilt by Frederick Etchells. The walls of the nave are pre-Conquest, and the chancel is from the 13th century. Most of the windows are from the 18th century, and the fittings are from 1934. There is a wall monument to Sir Richard Lewknor, who died in 1616, featuring one recumbent figure and two kneeling effigies.
