Description
Lee Farmhouse is a farmhouse that straddles the parish boundary of Fittleworth. The building features a date inscribed in two locations on its walls, which is sometimes interpreted as 1492, marking one of the earliest uses of Arabic figures. However, it is more likely to be 1592, indicating that it was constructed by Sir William Stanley after he acquired the property from the Lee family. The farmhouse is timber-framed with red brick infilling, and parts of it have been refaced with Hythe sandstone rubble and cement. It has a Horsham slab roof. The south side of the house features casement windows with stone mullions, while the north side has wooden mullions with small square panes.
