Description
Tanyard is a building that has been converted into two houses, with a date stone marking it as 1622. It is a restored 15th-century timber-framed structure featuring roughcast infilling and diagonal braces. The ground floor has been refaced in red brick and part stone rubble, while the first floor on the south and east fronts is tile-hung. The building has a steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof with gables and features casement windows, some of which have diamond-shaped or small square panes. It is two storeys high and has four windows, along with an off-centre 17th-century brick chimney stack. Inside, there is a crown post roof that has been heightened and now lacks braces or a collar beam, along with brick inglenook fireplaces and a stair cupboard with a panelled door that has butterfly hinges.
