Description

The ruins of a former dovecote, located northwest of Court House Farm, date back to the medieval period, possibly the 14th century. The structure is likely square in shape and is faced with flints, featuring stone quoins and nesting boxes. There is a later arch in the east wall. The ruins currently consist of two bays; the northern bay is roofless and lacks the west and most of the north walls, but it still retains nesting boxes in the east and south walls. The southern bay has a lean-to roof and contains nesting boxes in the east and north walls. For further details, refer to Sussex Archaeological Collections, Volume 116 (1978).
