Description
This farm outbuilding, located to the northeast of Highlow Hall, dates from the mid-18th century and was originally used as a combined piggery and henhouse. It is constructed from coursed rubble gritstone, featuring quoins and a stone slate roof. The building is low and consists of two storeys, with the henhouse situated above the piggery. Access to the henhouse is provided by a stone stairway at the southeast end. To the southwest, there is a walled enclosure that includes two feeding troughs and a water trough, which runs beneath the stone steps. The enclosure wall has stepped chamfered copings. This structure is listed for its group value.
