Description
The Anchorage and Number 63 is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, and it also includes a cottage that was formerly a store. The front is rendered and features rusticated quoins, while the roof is covered with pantiles and has a pale brick chimney. The building has three storeys and two windows, with modern pivoted windows set in the original openings. On the left side, there is a two-storey canted bay. The first-floor night window has a segmental stone lintel with a keystone, and the door below it is topped with an oblong fanlight. The rear section, known as Mrs Carter, is also rendered and has a pantiled roof. This part is two storeys high with one window, featuring unbarred sash windows and a four-panel door. The building is included mainly for its group value with the Royal George.
