Description

The Smugglers is a house that dates from the late 18th century and has been adapted to include shops. It is built from yellow brick and features stone rusticated quoins and dressings. The roof is pantiled and has six rooflights added. The building has two storeys and originally had four windows, which have been replaced with sashes that sit under stone lintels carved as voussoirs and keys. The front has modern shops and a door, while the rear has modern windows. Despite these extensive alterations, the building is included for its group value.
